Set out to a fascinating journey to Timgad or Thamugadi known by its original name, founded in 100 AD by Trajan to the veterans of Rome, back in time to see and explore one of the enormous Roman ruins known as the Pompeii of Africa and were once buried under the sand. One hour and a half from Constantine, roughly 130 Km by car you will get to the vast ruins of Timgad is known for its huge size, about 50 hectares, symmetrical grid plan and two main oriented streets, large forum, baths, library and imposing Capitol with an incredible state of preservation. It is incredibly situated, enclosed with the Aures mountains on a platform, so it would be easy for you to see all structures from different vantage points.
